System Requirements

  • Windows 95/98/ME/XP/2000/NTcomputer running at 500 MHz with 128 MB RAM. For best performance, a faster computer with a VGA accelerator board with 8 MB or more of RAM is recommended.

    (If your use a notebook computer, make sure the internal LCD monitor and an external monitor work simultaneously and the LCD display is full screen at 800x600 resolution)

CPC-2000: SmartPrompter Software with Simultaneous Captioning

The CPC-2000 is the cost-effective answer for captioning local TV news. All prompter text is automatically captioned as the text is read. Prerecorded and live unscripted segments are captioned manually, as described below. It’s the next best thing to real-time captioning with a stenotypist – at a fraction of the cost.

Realtime Captioning Features:

  • Prompted text is automatically output as closed captions as the prompter text is read.

  • Text for prerecorded segments is entered prior to airtime, and then captioned by the prompter operator scrolling the segment’s text when it is broadcast.

  • Text for live, unscripted segments is captioned by a fast typist entering the text as it is spoken, summarizing whenever necessary to keep pace with the speaker.
